Hey there…..
Lockets but so much more!
First things first. Thank you to the Willamette Week for including our lockets in their gift guide! Yay! It feels great to have our lockets showcased and we hope that our new customers have fun shopping for their lockets!
Speaking of buying lockets, you can buy your locket and other fun L2Y accessories in person this Sunday at Crafty Wonderland! Come on down to the Oregon Convention Center hall D and look for space #156. Here is a treasure map link.
We have a big 10′x10′ space and we are filling it with a ton of lockets and other goodies. Come early. Seriously, last year even with the blizzard it was a mad house. The doors open at 11am but people were getting in line around 9:30! I know right?
Coupon Code: pdx
This coupon is good through Saturday Dec. 12th for 25% off with free world wide shipping. (excludes The Miracle in July lockets) If you have any problems ordering let us know right away so we can help you. Oh, I think the “pdx” needs to be in lower case.
Random thoughts…
What do I write for you today?
Let’s be honest here, ok. I have no idea what the hell I am supposed to be writing about. I have all of these great ideas about what I want to do with this blog, but I have this intense fear. I know…. kind of ridiculous.
When I was a kid I actually won an award for writing. Illinois Young Authors. I was in fifth grade and my book was called School School School . Yeah, it was a good title that spoke to the judges, teachers. After that I thought maybe I could be a writer. Then something happened.
I don’t really know how to explain it. I kind of became lost. I started doing things that I didn’t really want to be doing. Now it’s not drugs or alcohol but rather something more destructive. I lost my confidence.
I am the type of person that has interest in just about everything, but I am not really an expert in anything. I just kind of floated through life doing what came next. That is the Pisces in me.
College really sucked. I hated school and everything about it. I went to the wrong school and I stayed there because I am very stubborn. At times I wonder what my life would be like today if I went to that other school and majored in that other field. Then I see my kids and my wife and know that I am where I am supposed to be.
My confidence is back. I am living my life under my terms. Now not everyday is a great fantastic Oprah day, but I definitely have more awesome days than I used to. What is my secret? It is simple. I control my thoughts. I stay positive. I send out thoughts like “Someday I will be on Strange Love Live“
Your thoughts do impact your life. I see it everyday on the twitter stream. Some people tweet about all the bad stuff happening all around them. One day it’s this bad thing and the next day it’s another tragedy. Soon you see the tweets coming from them about how sick they are. Now let me be clear about this, no matter how much you stay positive sometimes shit happens. It is how you handle these challenges that determine how quickly you recover and move on.
So, here is something to help you stay positive during your day. If you are reading these words….. I think that you are super awesome.

Strange Love Live
Tonight I will be on Strange Love Live!
This is a really big deal for me and for Locket 2 You. Cami Kaos and Dr. Normal produce one of the best live streamed shows ever in the history of the internets. Seriously, if you have not watched any of their episodes, you are missing out.
The first part is the Tech edition. I will probably talk about Twitter, Facebook and WordPress. I am not a hard core tech guy but I do enjoy learning about new applications and all the new stuff out there on the interwebs.
The second part of the show is called Afterhours! This is where I will do and say things that will either get me in trouble or make me Internet famous. It could go either way. Cami is making a new drink called the “Locket” and I am a light weight drunk. Get two drinks in me and I will be telling you stories that would make Kiala Kazebee blush.
The best thing about all of this is that I will be able to publicly thank all of you. Yes you. If you are reading this I want you to know that Miranda and I are so grateful to have you in our lives.
The show starts around 10 ish tonight.

One more thing it’s Halloween people! Crazy stuff always happens on Halloween….. see you there!
Here we go….

Working
Learning how to do this.

Working
I learn how to do things differently than most people. This always confused my teachers in school. In fact when I was in kindergarten a snooty student teacher that knew everything about childhood development was convinced I was autistic. This was 1980. Yeah, I’m autistic because I am bored to freak’n death in kindergarten. Well, I did have a speech impediment that required seven years of speech therapy but I am all better now.
I do have ADD but not the hyperactivity. Anyone that knows me knows that I do not do fast. I am working on that. I get distracted all the time. Now to my defense most of my distractions are focused on my kids. I do better with structure and I am going to whip this blog into shape by working on it religiously. Universal life Unitarian style
Also, I want to state that I am completely intimidated with all my friends and their blogs. Seriously, I am scared to death to be doing this. I actually know people that get paid cash money for writing and being all witty. I am a hack. Tweeting a little ditty is one thing, but developing a thought and putting structure to it so people enjoy it…..
Distraction: Portland I love you and all the wonderful non-meth head residents.
Alright, now to some business. Right now I am running an amazing sale. You get to pick anything from my store and get 50% with free shipping. Enter the coupon code “Cool.”
Seriously, go and buy this locket with the coupon code: Cool
Well, that wasn’t too bad and while I was writing this I got some awesome news. I now have my next post all planned out. Talk to you soon and remember this: Wise men count their blessings, fools count their problems.
The Miracle in July
They’re here…
The new Miracle in July Lockets.
An exciting collaboration with writer Michelle Anderson.
About the Story
From The Miracle in July website
by Michelle Anderson
Media is the sea that carries the vessel of story. Stories, no matter the genre or published format, are messages. The Miracle in July is a look at life, love and media ecology. Using social media to paint a picture worth a thousand words, The Miracle in July explores the paradoxical nature of online relationships.
Sparked by my true heartbreak and the push of a true friend, this story began as a form of therapy for me. The Miracle in July is a work-in-progress manuscript, told in several segments in three Acts, and bookended by a Prologue and Epilogue. The Miracle in July explores what it means to follow your bliss.
Videos, images and music created specifically for this story will be embedded to help submerge the reader into the experience of falling in love online. New interactive elements will be added as I discover them. With sound, words, images and hyperlinks, this digital story is an experiment in interactive sculpting, using tools available to anyone with a connection to the Internet.
Our little corner of the Internet
Yay!
We did it!
Okay, so it’s not like we just won the Noble Peace Prize or anything, but getting our own site up and running was one of our biggest goals of the year.
First, Miranda and I would like to say a very BIG and public thank you to Meagan for her help. Meagan has been so freak’n awesome in every way! #seriouslysherocks
Oh there it is…. I have now confused about half of the readers with the Twitter references.
I love Twitter…..FB not so much.
I will say this now, if you are not following @Locket2you on Twitter then you are missing out. Just check this video out, it will help explain…..
So, Miranda and I are excited to have a combination blog/e-commerce site. We want this site to be more than a place to buy our wares, but something that you look forward to viewing on a frequent basis. My head is spinning right now with ideas of what we can do to entertain you….. note to the office worker: we love you, we are here for you.
Well, I think I have gone on long enough here about how great we are. Oh yeah I almost forgot. Today’s blog post sponsored by The Whimsical Series Lockets.
